Berlin: Erwin Olaf & Co.

Galeria Wagner + Partner (jeszcze pod starym adresem Karl-Marx-Allee 87) zaprezentowała wystawę zbiorową "I Am Not Interested in Reality" (zakończoną 1 grudnia), z udziałem takich twórców jak: Erwin Olaf, Jorma Puranen, Natascha Stellmach, Raïssa Venables czy Thomas Wrede. Bez wątpienia najciekawszym elementem tej wystawy była instalacja Erwina Olafa, zatytułowana "Keyhole", czyli dziurka od klucza, stanowiąca wielki, zamkniety "mebel", z dwoma stanowiskami do zaglądania przez tytułową dziurkę od klucza, za którą umieszczony został wideomonitor, oraz z dziesięcioma pracami umieszczonymi we wnękach na boku owalnego "mebla". Całość stanowi wypowiedź autora na temat wojeryzmu - znajdowania przyjemności w oglądaniu obcych światów i rzeczywistości. Propozycja jest ciekawa, wykonana (jak na Erwina Olafa przystało) perfekcyjnie i faktycznie skłania do refleksji. Natomiast ocenę połączenia w jednej przestrzeni tej instalacji z pracami pozostałych autorów pozostawiam P.T. Czytelnikom.

Wagner + Partner Gallery (still at the old address of Karl-Marx-Allee 87) presented the collective exhibition "I Am Not Interested in Reality" (ended December, 1st), with such artists as: Erwin Olaf, Jorma Puranen, Natascha Stellmach, Raissa Venables and Thomas Wrede. Without a doubt, the most interesting part of the exhibition was the installation by Erwin Olaf, named "Keyhole". It was a large, closed "piece of furniture", with two seats on each end to peek through the keyholes, behind which video monitors were placed, and ten photographs in recess on the sides of the oval "furniture". The whole is intended as the author's statement about voyeurism - finding pleasure in watching foreign worlds or realities. This proposal is indeed interesting, made ​​(as expected from Erwin Olaf) with perfect quality and actually prompting the viewer for afterthoughts. Whereas, the idea to exhibit the works of other authors in the same space is left for the readers to assess.
